Analysis Of The Movie Paper Planes - 829 Words
Paper Planes Analysis While watching the movie Paper Planes it is rather obvious the director of the movie, Robert Connelly, has some very strong views about certain issues. He has strong views about winning or losing, and it is clear that he thinks it is more about having fun than winning. Connelly has views on other issues as well, such as problems between fathers and sons. There are also some themes in the movie about moving on with past and focusing on the present and the future. He uses various techniques to prove his points to the viewers. One of these is to have two characters, one that has the same concerns as him, and is likeable, and the other who is the exact opposite, and is dislikeable. These make it clear to the viewer that he has strong views. The movie has a rather large theme of it not mattering whether you win or lose, you should just have fun and play fair. This is made pretty obvious by having three characters who fall into different ends of this spectrum, Jason, Dylan, And Kimi. Jaso n is someone who is only ever playing to win, and does not care if other people are having fun. Dylan still wants to win, but as long as everyone has fun, he is happy. Kimi is the character at the bottom end of this spectrum. She doesnââ¬â¢t really care at all who wins and who loses, she just wants to make something beautiful. This does not mean that she does not want to win, it just means winning is not her top priority. Load Of The Flies Essay Example For Students
Load Of The Flies Essay LORD OF THE FLIESMy report is about the very well known book Lord of the flies, by WilliamGolding. There are many characters in this book, but the most important ones are Ralph,Jack, Simon, Piggy, and Roger. When I read this book I discovered a great change inmost of their personalities, especially Jacks. So I would say that they are all dynamiccharacters. Ralph, in the beginning of the novel, had a boyish personality. Then later onin the novel, he became much more mature due to the fact that all of them had to live in amore civilized manner to get a long and to survive while waiting to be rescued. Jack, inthe beginning of the novel was Ralphs most powerful antagonist. Then later on turnedagainst Ralph and becomes leader. Simon is a unique character in the novel. He remainslargely uninvolved with any of the power struggles between Ralph and Jack. He waskilled. Roger is very mean. He killed Piggy by pushing a big bolder on top of him. Piggywas the intellectual in the group. He complai ned a lot in the beginning, but later onbecame more mature. But, unfortunately, he was killed by Roger. The novel begins about a group of English people who are marooned on a tropicalisland when the plane evacuating them from atomic war-torn England crashes. So nowthis group of boys are alone on this island. Then Ralph called an assembly to talk to theother guys about making a plan to get along and survive. The struggle starts in trying tomake rules for the group to live by. There were many more conflicts through out thenovel. But the main conflict is the boys trying to get along with each other and survivewhile waiting to be rescued from a deserted island. There are also some major conflictsbetween Ralph and Jack over trying to be the leader of the group. I enjoyed this book because it showed me what can happen when people are put ina desperate situation where there are no rules or social structure and how differentpersonalities react to this lack of order. It also showed me how much one person canmake a difference. Book Reports
